Moving average price change

$

Hi,

my customer is in SAP Retail. Article's MAP has suddenly changed from 26 to 450 within a few days. However, there are only two goods issue postings during this time period (with movement type 251), there are no goods receipts. Also, no price change has been made in MR21. Please advice what other postings there can be which have changed the MAP so much. MR51 cannot be used to check accounting documents (e.g. if there would have been invoice postings which would have changed the MAP) as document summarization is active. However, we have checked table BSEG and no documents found.

Changing freight vendor in PO after GR

$

Hello,

I have the following question - before after GR of invoive receipt we were not able to change freight vendor (planned delivery costs) in purchase order.

Now it is possible to change freight vendor in PO at any time. We didn't make any customizing with condition types.

But we implemented the Ehp 6.

Could you please advise - is it because of Ehp 6 or somebody's customizing? It is in all systems right now.

I read the following thread, but didn't find an answer:

disable change of freight vendor after GR posted

PO freight condition at header similar to HB00

Freight Condition

Thank you in advance

I wonder to know if the ML85 transaction, ENTRY_REL list accepts the ALV Grid Control option. I activated in Customizing, but didn´t work.

Thank you.

I need to build a graph showing total inventory dollars per storage location/plant by month at that point in time in history. What table(s) should i be using to acheive this? I see there is MBEWH for history but that is plant specific and does not contain storage location.

Condition Types on PO/GR

$

Hi,

We are just starting to use condition types on the PO.  Up to this point, we were using account assignment category 'K' and posting surcharges such as freight or fuel as expense lines in the account assignment tab.

My question is concerning the account assignment for the condition types.  I know that in MM Account Determination, we link the condition type to a G/L account.

Here is what I'm seeing on our Goods Receipts.  If we post Freight as a statistical condition type, we get a line on the Goods Receipt for Freight with the offset to the Purchase Price Variance Account.  If we also add a discount, the freight is offset by the discount account.  If we only have a discount, the offset goes to the Purchase Price Variance account.

To sum this up, if there is only a discount, or only one surcharge, the amount gets posted to the correct G/L account and the offset goes to the Purchase Price Variance GL account.

If there is a discount and freight, no posting goes to the Purchase Price Variance Account.  The two (freight and discount) offset each other on the Goods Receipt (if they are the same amount).

That doesn't seem right to me.

Is it the way we have our MM Pricing Procedure configured?

I'd appreciate any help or advice on this.

Thanks and regards,

Judy Ortscheid

Ability to link the STO to the sales order & goods deliver directly or send to us first

Hi,

I would like to know if a standard SAP STO (cross company STO) can be link to a sales order in the SAP system.

Unlike third party order or third party dropshipment, we have a scenario in which when a sales order is created, and the goods has to be get it and source it from another sister company (belong to other company code).

Next, the goods can either deliver to the customer from our sister company OR the goods can deliver to our premises and we send to the customer.

May I know if this is possible?

If yes, what is the system configuration, master data setup, as well as pricing?

thanks

Material Classification - How to maintain Mass price association

All,

Was hoping to get some advice, we currently aren't using the Standard SAP Material Classification system however we are looking to do.

One of the questions I'm being asked is it possible for us to maintain Mass prices for materials with similar classifications i.e. only the language or packinging colour is different but the cost would be the same. I've had a look around but I've not been able to find anything would appreciate your input.

If the mass price isn't possible can you provide me with on how you would normally maintain price to associate with your Material Classification.

An example here would be:

We could have 5 different types of Envelopes, all are the same cost but have some minor devations in terms of size, colour, sealing type, window etc. I want to maintain the price for all of these without having to manually do it for each different spec type.

Multiple UOM associated with rounding rule of Rounding profile

Hi Team,

We were looking for options of adding multiple UOM to the rounding profile. We have our material in base unit of measure as Cases (CS) . We have maintained the alternate units of measure for these materials as Layers(12 Cases=1 Layer) and Pallets (15 Cases= 1 Pallet). We had created rounding rule 1 whereby Layer had a 30% rounding up and rounding down value and pallets had a 70 % rounding up value alone. It is observed that we could associate with only 1 of the alternate Unit in rounding profile even though rounding rule is associated with more than 1. Is there an option whereby system could do the rounding based on the alternate UOM selected when we have rules with multiple UOM defined and when the material master has multiple UOM as well

Quantity in Purchase Order Price Unit is different in GR

$

Dear All,

I am having an issue regarding to the quantity in Goods receipt and Purchase Order.

The quantity in Purchase Order Price Unit is different in GR. There is no any change for the quantity.

For example: The total quantity is 60, they have goods receipt for 3 times.

First GR: quantity is 20, quantity in POUn is 20

Second GR: quantity is 20, quantity in POUn is 20

Third GR: quantity is 20, quantity in POUn is 29

Would like to know why the quantity in POUn is 29 rather than 20 in third GR? Please advise.

Thank you.

Movement 545 on project stock - Subcontracting co-product

$

Hello,

In a subcontracting purchase order item, I am trying to receive co-products, which are not directly the material ordered, but will be recieved in the same time from the supplier.

To do so, I declare those co-product materials as items with negative quantity in the main product BOM. That way, they appear as negative components in the purchase order item.

When I make the GR for this purchase order item (using ADSUBCON transaction), I get an error message M7226 saying that "Entry 545 X X R _ _ P is missing in customizing". We are actually using project stock, but I am a bit surprised, as I only used standard features in this scenario, and I wonder what would be the simpler way to recieve those co-products with the purchase order item. It doesn't seem safe to change standard customizing for movement types...

Any help will be appreciated.

KANBAN Process for External Procurement

KANBAN Process for External Procurement

What is KANBAN:

Kanban is a Japanese word with the meaning Signboard or Billboard and basically a card contain the details like the required material and its quantity and where the material is required. Normally during the production, if there exists a system of scheduling which takes care of immediate requirements of the Production  for the delivery as and when required say Just In Time rather when needed , would reduce the Lead Times and Inventory and provides a continuous flow for Production which does not stop the  lines of Production..

The process with this name KANBAN has been designed to take care of such requirements which will schedule the logistics chain as and when required for the Production Line. In this process the requirement for replenishment will be triggered by Production. This triggering will be in the form of a Signal (KANBAN SIGNAL ) in the place of kanban card manually which will consists of Required material and Quantity and the work area where it is required and will be sent directly to the work area ( Source vendor / Production area where its manufactured ) . Soon after the material is received the Goods Receipt can be posted automatically through the signal at the source of Demand.

KANBAN a Simplified Version:

  K15.png

Worthy points for KANBAN

The components which have to be consumed should be constant for a period of time which should be the longer than the replenishment lead time of the component.

The supply source should be capable of producing large quantities in small lots with in a period.

Few key words to be noted worthy.

Control Cycle: A control Cycle defines the relationship ouibetween the demand source such as a production line and the supply source such as an External Source.

Work area: Is an area at which the demand for the material exists and at which this material is utilized for the production of another component

JIT CALL: Is a Just In time call is a signal which will be generated in the system and which will contain the details like the material, required quantity, Delivery date, and the material Required Plant and the supply area which will receive the material and supply to the demand area of production, to whom the details to be send which is the vendor based upon the scheduling agreement.

Scheduling Agreement: Scheduling Agreement is an Agreement with the vendor for a supply of the required material for a JIT CALL quantity with the schedule of delivery.

Kanban Quantity: It is the quantity allotted for a KANBAN upon which needed to get filled with when emptied.

KANBAN Procedures:

There exist different procedures available for KANBAN based upon the control of Production and Operational structures.

Classic KANBAN: This procedure will be used to replenish the material for the number of Kanbans that circulates between the supply source and the demand source and the quantity per kanban. In this type of kanban the number of kanbans are fixed as per the control cycle and the quantity in the control cycle and also the signal will get triggered for the quantity per kanban defined in the control cycle.

Event Driven KANBAN: In the Event Driven kanban, the material is not made available continuously at a production supply area, but is procured when the material is requested. This does not depend upon the number of kanbans in the control cycle or the quantity in the kanban of the control cycle.

One Card KANBAN: With this approach, replenishment is always triggered when the kanban from which material is currently being withdrawn is approximately half empty. The new kanban then arrives before the current kanban has been completely emptied. This is very much useful when the material is not needed from time to time.

KANBAN with Quantity Signal: In the Classic KANBAN, the signal will be made to Empty when the operator makes it to empty when the KANBAN quantity reaches to ZERO and will not be knowing the current level of quantity prior becoming to zero. In contrast to Classic variety , in this model the operates c n enter the quantity and system can make the signal to Empty when emptied automatically as soon the kanban quantity is reached .

With the above basic introduction on the kanban and its processes, the below paragraphs will describe how a KANBAN can be dealt for external procurement.

KANBAN CLASSIC PROCESS FOR EXTERNAL PROCUREMENT:

Step 1: Maintain Supply Area

Transaction Code: PK05

K1.png

Upon Enter and with new entries:

K2.png

Step 2: Create Control Cycle:

Transaction Code: PKMC

K3.png

Upon you press enter along with the material entries with the plant and supply area; system will lead to a screen where in you need to maintain the number of kanbans, kanban quantity and the external procurement details.

K4.png

In the External Procurement field we need to select one JIT CALL required  and soon after selecting the prifile , system will ask for a Schedule Line Aggrement with the item number of the material .

K5.png

In the Flow Control Field provide the JIT CALL Profile and provide a print control detail in the tab.

Pre Requisites for Control Cycle:

  1. Schedule Agreement at ME31L with a Schedule line
  2. Message Output design at NACE for the JIT CALL signal Print /mail /fax etc.
  3. Configuration for JIT CALL profile, JITCALL calculation profile details etc.

STEP 3: Kanban Signal Generation

Transaction code: PK21 (Manual Entry): In the KANBAN control process, signal generation place an important role. Though there exists many ways of doing the same, this write up concentrates on the Manual signal generation.

K6.png

In the above screen provide the control cycle number and kanban number earlier created and press enter. System will populate the control cycle details.

K7.png

Upon Press save system move the status from WAIT to EMPTY to generate a JITCALL to the vendor.

With proper settings for the output and a condition record for the output type system will send a mail or a Print to send to vendor or Fax etc.

K8.png

STEP 4:  Out Put the JIT CALL

Transaction code: PJNA

The Jit call generated in the above step will be send to the vendor using the transaction code PJNA with the Output type entry and upon execute, system will lead to the send screen.

K9.png

K10.png

Based upon the Transmission mode and its form and configuration settings at NACE, we can either FAX/EMAIL/PRINT the JIT CALL.

Step 5: Making the Goods Receipt upon the Receipt of the Material:

Transaction Code: PJWE

Through this transaction we can automatically receipt the received materials into the supply area.

K11.png

And upon enter the screen system will lead to

K12.png

And upon provision of the received quantity and saving the screen system will post the GR.

Conclusion:

This is how the external procurement for KANBAN will work for the Classic KANBAN

Change of PR document type generated from maintenance order

$

Hi All,

We are using a custom table having maint. order type,  maint. order priority & PR document type from where system picks PR document type during auto generation of PR from maintenance order . Initially PR doc. type was urgent as priority maintained in order is 2(Urgent)  . Now, it is observed that this PR document type has been changed to normal (NB) which is corresponding to maint. order of  priority 3 (Normal) .From change document of PR, it is found that PR document type was changed from t-code IW32. But when I am checking action log of the maint. order at IW32 , there is no change document regarding order priority & same priority 2(urgent) only  prevails in the order .

Can anyone please let me know the reason for changing PR document type as doc. type of this auto generated  PR can not be changed using t-code ME52N.

Thanking you all.
