Operating materials (like drill bits) for shop floor

Hello,

I am a business user for a manufacturing facility.

We use a lot of tools like drill bits.  I am hoping to set them up as Materials in SAP (Operating Supplies or Production Resources / Tools?).

I'm then hoping to use a simple barcode to allow operators to "check in" and "check out" tools from the inventory.

Is there an appropriate transaction or way to do this?  MIGO is far too complex for unskilled labor to use.
