We have a problem related to using PR or Reservation in order to create requisition for material, due to scenario described below:
Our purchasing scenario is descried below:
"In our organization when a request for a good is created, there are some steps for approval (which depends on the material group and the amount of the request). For example for IT equipments more than 1000$ the manager and the manager of IT department and also the manager of purchasing department should approve the request, or for commercial services less than 50000$ the manager, the manager of marketing department and the manager of purchasing department should approve it.
One important point is that the requests for materials always lead to good issue from storage location not purchasing from vendor , I mean all requests after passing approval steps will arrive to storage location, which sb checks the availability of goods and If it is available he will post a good issue otherwise he will put the request in buffer.
All of our purchases are based on planning (CBP module) and PRs always will be created automatically from storage location not by users.
So if users use reservation for creating their request, we can’t manage the approval steps for them by release strategy(wich we use for PR) and also we cant check the budget availibiluty for requests. And if they use PR (as we don’t want these PRs convert to POs) it wont be practical because we cant issue good based on PR."
